As mentioned on the day, that very morning Myeloma UK has just funded my Dad to go on a Clinical Trial for a treatment which will hopefully improve his Cancer Markers better than his 4 previous treatments. A special thanks to Gross Winner Sam Sanghera who very kindly put his prize up for auction on the night with all proceeds going to charity. Thank you, Sam”. You can still donate to the cause via the link here. Robert French is fundraising for Myeloma UK (justgiving.com) . If you have not heard of Myeloma UK before be sure to check them out here.

Another special thanks to Jim White at White23 who was the man looking after the sign up & scoring throughout the day. He made it seamless throughout and certainly stress free. If you have a golf day and would like the live scoring, images and videos, Jim is a fantastic asset to have. Jim’s LinkedIn profile is here – (28) Jim White | LinkedIn

It was great to see so many people representing Eagle Apparel Golf on the day. We also saw a lot of our new Pimento Cheese Sandwich collection on show. The launch was well received and the feedback we had on the new collection was that it was so subtle not many realised that the icons on the clothing were the Pimento Pepper, Cheese, Masters Cup, and White Bread. You can see them below. The subtle touch makes for a clean design and is a nod to the famous Pimento Cheese Sandwich that you see being served at Augusta National in April.

You can still shop for the new collection via the link here. We have limited sizes left so be sure to secure your size before it’s too late.

Congratulations to Jon Rahm on winning The Masters after a long weekend of crazy weather prolonging the rounds. It’s great to see another winner from Europe taking home the Green Jacket.

Lastly, we would like to thank everyone again for making the trip, we hope to see you at the next one. Be sure to sign up for our newsletter here for more information about events like this one, early access to new releases and top tips from our ambassadors monthly.

Alligators vs Eagle Ambassadors at White Heron Golf Club

Alligators v eagle ambassadors

white heron golf club | DAY 3

Florida Day 3 – The boys headed to White Heron Golf Club where again we were welcomed with open arms by The Pro, Cliff. The hospitability throughout our trip was top notch. The group enjoyed the course so much, they played another 9 straight after they finished the 18th, super enjoyable but once again challenging golf course. It’s the type of course we think of when we think of golf stateside; fast sloped greens, forced carries, water & Gators!

Gary Martin plays Big Sam Golf in a 3-hole vlog of the PGA Black Tees. You can watch part 1 of the match here you can watch the part 2 video here.

White Heron Golf Club is definitely more of a golf course people would associate with Florida not many elevation changes, loads of water everywhere and a tough test. White Heron was originally built in 1994 by Golf Course Architect Ted McAnglis and redesigned and rebuilt in 2020. The greens had just been relayed just 6 weeks prior and its amazing how good they were already, the guys were gobsmacked.

This Championship golf course is a gem in Central Florida for the golf enthusiast. Ted McAnglis was once a NASA civil engineer, who learned golf design by working for the prolific George and Tom Fazio. The White Heron GC layout extends well over 7,400 yards and features testing greens which made it a pleasure to play. In December 2022 they had just finished relaying all the greens. Gary Martin said that they were the best greens he had played on during the 3 days he had been there.

In all the videos from Florida, the ambassadors are wearing 2023 Spring/Summer drops so if you like any of the outfits you see make sure you are subscribed to our newsletter to gain early access soon. Sign Up Here.

The big greens were fast and rolling true which is perfect for golf. This was a fantastic golf course with a great layout and plenty of alligators on the course, luckily they were friendly and especially the little guy on 16th fairway that was sunbathing all afternoon. Alligators on the course are not something we are used to in England which adds to the experience of playing golf in Florida.

White Heron GC is not yet a famous course but with the recent investment & changes it’s certainly one to look out for and a little hidden gem if you’re in the area! The back 9 is especially fun to play. Robbie & the gang would like to thank Cliff for being so accommodating during our visit. Be sure to check them out here.

Scotty Cameron Collection in Florida

An awesome scotty cameron collection in florida

Florida – Day 2 we headed to Black Bear Golf Club for our first 18 holes of the week. da. Black Bear is a super accommodating golf club that is a family-run business. Roger & the team was so friendly and amazing to us throughout the day, all the ambassadors were in awe of his Scotty Cameron collection. He owed round about 28 putters which are displayed in the pro shop. Big Sam Golf filmed an interview with Roger who showed off his stunning collection of Scotty’s for you all to see. You can watch the YouTube video here

After the round, Liam Robinson Tour Pro, Gary Martin and the owner Robbie jumped back out on the course and filmed a 3-hole vlog. Find out if Gary Martin or Robbie could challenge Liam Robinson playing off the championship tees. Also, can any of the lads make an Eagle in Eagle on camera ????. Liam gives some insight into playing golf full time & Robbie also discusses the Eagle brand and gives an update on the brand and where it all started for Eagle.

In all the videos from Florida, the ambassadors are wearing 2023 Spring/Summer drops so if you like any of the outfits you see make sure you are subscribed to our newsletter to gain early access soon. Sign up here.

Black Bear Golf Club is an interesting golf course with a great layout. It was recently built in 1995 and designed by P. B. Dye. The course was quite wide off the tee so it’s not that challenging off the tees but as you got close to the green that’s where all the challenges arose & you have to be sharp. With this being the case, your iron play and chipping had to be spot on throughout the round. If you didn’t hit the greens,  the run off & slopes around the greens would make it a super tricky up and down. They also had som eof the narrowest greens we’ve seen, check out the Par 5 2nd in Gary’s video above. This is a super track, not too daunting off the tee but a still a challenging round of golf & a must play if in the area.

We would recommend that you play Black Bear Golf Club in Florida if you get the chance. It’s not crazy expensive like other courses in Florida. This course wasn’t your typical kind of golf course you would find in Florida with a lot of water with only one hole with water in play. Robbie described it as classic Florida rustic golf and the ambassadors were glad, they got to ease themselves into the trip here on day 2. Eagle Apparel Golf would like to say thanks again to Roger and his family for being so welcoming while we were there.

If you would like to visit Black Bear Golf Club when you are in Florida, you can do so here

Eagle Head to the US

Ambassadors head to us

Day 1

Back in January, we hosted a trip out to Florida for our ambassadors to go and play at multiple golf courses in Orlando. It gave all our ambassadors to play, practice, create content and improve their game in perfect golfing conditions.

Day One – We headed to  Grande Vista Golf Club for a practice day. The golf club has state of the art facilites that include grass driving range, wedge only grass driving range, 4 chipping greens, huge putting green and a stunning nine hole academy golf course.

The golf course has towering pines, magnificent oaks and beautiful cypress trees surrounding this 2,300 yards, par 32 gem. While possessing an element of challenge for the avid golfer, this stunning Ron Garl design was created with the family in mind to encourage learning and development.

Grande Vista also works closely with the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary program to preserve the diverse wildlife, flourishing palmettos and exotic wetlands of the property, providing an ambience that is unlike any other.

Our ambassadors got used to the different playing conditions. The bermuda grass made it hard for the guys at first, It was a shock with how different the grainy grass was as it affected the Golf Club not only around the greens but also long shots of the fairways. It was a good way to test the ambassadors and help them get used to the different environments in Florida. You check Gary Martins Video of Grande Vista Golf Club here.

On the first night, we headed to Pop Stroke which is a mini-putt designed by Tiger Woods.  We played both red and black making a 36-hole tournament between us all. Check out the full video here. It’s all themed around Tiger Woods which when you are a golf/Tiger Woods fanatic is really cool. The facility is amazing and there will be a video from Pop Stroke over on Gary Martin’s YouTube channel.

The ambassadors spent a few hours at Pop Stroke and had some food. It was great you are allowed to take drinks and food out on the golf course.

Check our Pop Stroke here.

We are now looking at running a trip like this at least once a year maybe twice a year to the public. The trip will most likely be to Florida as in winter there is no golf like it. Over the next 6 weeks we have 6 blog posts coming out about the trip so keep your eyes peeled for the blogs and social media pages for updates about our first trip to Florida with the ambassadors.

Look for more trips to other destinations in the future by signing up for our newsletter here.

10 Top Tips To Enjoy Winter Golf

10 Top Tips To Enjoy Winter Golf

During the Winter months, the weather may not be quite as nice, but there’s no reason you can’t carry on playing golf throughout the year. The Winter Golf tips featured in this blog will help you adapt and enjoy your golf even when the temperatures start to drop.

1. Change your golf balls

Most of us like one model of ball, but it’s well worth considering changing that preference to suit winter conditions.

You may benefit from a firmer distance golf ball that carries further through the air because you want optimal carry when the fairways and greens are soft. Those softer and colder conditions also mean you can afford the slight drop-off in softness, feel and spin around the greens.

2. Practise your short game

It can be easy to neglect your short game in the winter, but you should practice it at least as much for two very good reasons. Firstly, courses are playing longer and often tougher, so you’ll probably need it more often.

Secondly, you’ll be playing different kinds of short game shots from all sorts of lies and the ball will react differently on wetter and softer greens. Make sure you vary the lie when you practice and use the same model of ball you intend to use out on the course to make it more realistic.

Lastly, with greens being wetter & bumpier than summer, getting it closer to the hole will help with your putting stats!

Check out Eagle Ambassador’s Marcus & Alex’s content for tips on all your golf game.

3. Invest in quality outerwear for the range

The amount of technology in golf clothing is amazing and outerwear these days is much lighter, more breathable and comfortable than previously.

Let’s face it in autumn and winter you may find yourself down at the driving range more often than on the course. The off season is where you can practice more and focus on those shots you have struggled with throughout the season. Our OFF SZN Hoodies were made for the range sessions

4. Carry your golf bag

If you’re able to, it’s a good idea to carry your bag in winter because you will leave much less wear and tear on the course than using a trolley or buggy.

Using one of the best golf stand bags is also far less hassle to get around as you don’t have to go out of your way to follow trolley routes or leave your bag a long way from where your ball is. It also leaves your hands free to put in your pockets to keep warm.

5. Take more than one towel

Your towel is going to get messy in winter with all the mud you need to wipe off your clubs, so make sure you’re always able to keep them clean by carrying an extra one.

An extra towel is also brilliant if it rains because you can use it to dry your grips without transferring any mud you’ve already cleaned. Check out our towels and other accessories for the golfer here.

6. Try playing with half a set

This makes your bag lighter to carry, which is especially helpful if you’re used to using a trolley in the summer, and it also enables you to increase your creativity and versatility on the course.

It will help you protect the course too and improve your shot-making skills, something that seems to be getting lost in this bomb and gauge era but is especially useful in the wind or around the greens.

7. Take more club

Your yardages will be shorter in winter because the ball doesn’t fly as far through the air, and you’ll get much less roll when it lands. You’re also more likely to play in strong winds that will really knock the ball in the air, and heavy rain will also affect the ball flight.

Generally, taking one extra club is a good idea, and conditions might dictate you’re playing two or three more clubs more than you might in the summer.

8. Layering is KEY!

During the Autumn and Winter months we do get some beautiful days for Golf, however, it’s often cold and changeable. Balancing warmth/comfort when swinging in when cold can be challenging but this is where thin, technical layers are key. We would recommend close fitting, stretchy layers that allow you to move but retain your body heat & don’t let cold air in. I wind topping Gilet would also be recommended on those breezy days to keep your core warm. Match these with a good Winter hat and you won’t go far wrong.

Winter Fit example: Elite Long Sleeve Polo, Elite Crew Neck Top, Championship Gilet, Off Szn Beanie, Elite Performance Trousers, good thick Socks & optional baselayer trousers. SHOP ALL

9. Choose your Golf courses wisley

During these cold and wet months, you know certain golf courses in your area drain better in winter. Links, Heathland and any other sand based courses are often the best all weather courses. Search them out and try and book ahead to ensure you get those tee times during the shorter days. Also, look out for Winter Deals as clubs look to increase their takings during the off season.

10. Stay Social

This autumn/winter we want to see you working on your game in your Eagle Apparel. Make sure you are following us on Instagram – Facebook and TikTok. Tag us in your posts using @eagleapparelgolf and you will feature in our stories and may even feature as a post on our feed.
